Hernandez Repeats As West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Hernandez helped keep Portland's shutout streak alive

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Notching seven points in a historic night for LMU, Diego Lopez-Rosales claimed West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Portland's Miguel-Angel Hernandez repeated as West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after registering another shutout for the Pilots. 
 
WEST COAST CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DIEGO LOPEZ-ROSALES, GR., F – LMU
Diego Lopez-Rosales amassed a seven-point effort in the Lions' record-setting 9-2 victory over Cal State Fullerton. He scored after drawing a penalty in the early minutes and followed that with a volley finish to score the Lions' third and eventual game-winning goal. He also added an assist and completed the hat trick later in the contest. This is LMU's first conference weekly award this season.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MIGUEL-ANGEL HERNANDEZ, JR., GK – PORTLAND
Miguel-Angel Hernandez recorded his fifth shutout of the year in a 0-0 tie on the road against Saint Louis, collecting three saves in the process, a season best. He notched a crucial save off a set piece in the 41st minute. Hernandez is one of four goalkeepers in Division I that is still perfect. This is the Pilots' second conference weekly award this season.
