SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Two victories over UCSD and San Diego State led to LMU winning two West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week awards. Max Wuelfing won Singles Player of the Week, while Kuba Hrynkiewiecz claimed West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week. Santa Clara's doubles tandem of Luca Bluett and John Kim won West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week.   
 
WEST COAST CONFERENCE SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MAX WUELFING, SR. – LMU
Max Wuelfing won both matches last weekend, winning 6-1, 6-2 against UCSD in No. 2 singles before garnering another quick finish with a 6-1, 6-4 against San Diego State. Both wins helped the Lions beat both the Tritons and Aztecs.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – LUCA BLUETT, SO., JOHN KIM, SR., SANTA CLARA
Luca Bluett and John Kim beat a pair of nationally ranked doubles teams at the ITA Kickoff Weekend, defeating No. 2 Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez of Mississippi State (6-4) and No. 12 Jacob Olar and Andrii Zimnokh (6-2) of Alabama. The win over Jovanovic and Sanchez Martinez clinched the doubles point for the Broncos. The pair picked up its second victory the next morning on court one. This victory also helped the Broncos secure the doubles point as SCU beat Alabama, 4-2. This is Santa Clara's first conference weekly award this season.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – KUBA HRYNKIEWIECZ, FR. – LMU
Kuba Hrynkiewiecz clinched the match against the Aztecs in a marathon matchup. He battled through a three-set tiebreaker, including withstanding three match points before finally clinching the match with a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (10-8) victory. The freshman used a big serve to come back from a pair of match points early in the tiebreaker before putting three straight points together to win it.
