SAN BRUNO, Calif. – A big week including sweeping LMU in conference play after knocking off top-20 ranked Oregon State earlier in the week, Portland claimed two Rawlings West Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week awards this week. Trey Swygart won Rawlings West Coast Conference Player of the Week, while Alex Via claimed Rawlings West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week. Kale Hammer of Seattle U earned the Redhawks first conference weekly award this season, winning Rawlings West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week.
RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TREY SWYGART, SO., INF – PORTLAND
Trey Swygart hit .533 last weekend with two home runs, six RBI and two doubles. Swygart clubbed two homers against LMU on Friday. He boasted three hits in two separate game last week. During Portland's upset victory over No. 17 Oregon State, he brought home an insurance run. Swygart also pitched on Friday, going 3.2 innings with no runs allowed and seven strikeouts, tied for the most by any Pilot this season and also a career high. This is Portland's first conference player of the week award this season.

Kale Hammer secured his first collegiate win and recorded a career-high eight strikeouts for the first West Coast Conference win for the Redhawks since returning to the league during Seattle U's 5-2 win over Pacific. Hammer allowed two unearned runs on three hits, going 7.2 innings in the victory.

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – ALEX VIA, FR., RHP – PORTLAND
Alex Via recorded two saves for the Pilots last weekend, both coming against LMU, giving him four on the season. The Sunday save secured the road sweep for the Pilots. In his 2.1 total innings of work, Via did not allow any hits or runs and also collected a strikeout.
