SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Pepperdine’s Eunseo Choi and Oregon State’s Kyra Ly will represent the West Coast Conference in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur April 1-4, as both have received invitations to the prestigious event.
Choi and Ly are part of a field of 72 golfers selected from around the world to compete in the event. The Augusta National Women’s Amateur is one of the premier tournaments of the year in amateur golf. The field includes champions from several amateur tournaments around the world, including the reigning U.S. Women’s Amateur Champion, along with the 30 highest ranked players from the United States based on the final 2025 Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking and several others selected for special invitations to the event.
The first two rounds of the 54-hole event will be held April 1 and 2 at the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The field will be cut to 30 and the final round will be played at Augusta National Golf Club, the site of The Masters, on Saturday, April 4. All 72 individuals in the field will play a practice round at Augusta National Golf Club on April 3.
The first and second rounds of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PT). NBC will have three hours (9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. PT) of live final-round coverage of the event.
Choi, a sophomore for the Waves, is making her second appearance in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. In her first appearance last year, she shot rounds of 73 and 78, missing the cut. She currently ranks No. 31 in the SCOREBOARD by Clippd individual rankings. Her current World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) is No. 55. Choi has four consecutive top-15 finishes, most recently placing 15th in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational. She won the individual title in the Fresno State Classic on March 3. Choi was the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year last season, finishing 10th at the conference championship.
Ly, a senior for the Beavers, ranks No. 93 in the latest SCOREBOARD by Clippd rankings. She had three top-four finishes in the fall, including an individual title in the tournament hosted by Tennessee. She placed sixth in the in the San Diego State Classic last month. Ly is No. 105 in the latest WAGR. Ly was voted the West Coast Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Year last season. She placed fourth in the West Coast Conference Championship last April.
Last year, Choi, Pepperdine teammate Jeneath Wong, and San Francisco’s Riana Mission represented the West Coast Conference at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
The Augusta National Women’s Amateur event began in 2019. The 2026 event is the seventh edition, as the 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event is played the week before The Masters.
Provided they remain an amateur, the Augusta National Women’s Amateur Champion will receive an invitation to the next five Augusta National Women’s Amateurs, the U.S. Women’s Open, the AIG Women’s Open, the Chevron Championship, the Evian Championship and any USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships for which she is eligible for one year.
