SAN BRUNO, Calif. - West Coast Conference beach volleyball was in full force last weekend at the West Coast Challenge in Santa Cruz with all seven programs competing. No. 8 LMU won the challenge without dropping a set in four contests over the two days against Pacific, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara and Pepperdine. Over the weekend, LMU senior Chloe Hooker became the sixth Lion in program history to earn 100 career wins. The Lions are currently 19-5 with their only losses coming from top-6 opponents - then No. 4 USC, No. 1 UCLA, No. 6 Texas, No. 2 Stanford and No. 5 Texas.
Pepperdine earned the second-place finish in Santa Cruz. After defeating Portland and Santa Clara on the first day, then defeating Saint Mary's to start the second day, the Waves advanced to the championship match against LMU.
Saint Mary's finished third at the West Coast Challenge for the third consecutive year. The Gaels swept San Francisco on the first day before losing to LMU, then split matches on day two against Pepperdine (lost, 1-4) and Santa Clara (won, 3-2). Saint Mary's Hannah Glick and Genevieve both picked up their 43rd career win in Santa Cruz to put them into the top 20 in program history for total wins.

This Week
Saint Mary's starts the action for the conference this week with two matches against UC Davis and Stanford at Stanford on Wednesday. The Gaels then head to Sacramento for Friday action against Concordia-Irvine and Sacramento State.
LMU will head to Tallahassee, Fla., this weekend to compete in the FSU Challenge. On Friday, the Lions will take on Southern Miss and Florida State before wrapping up on Saturday against Jacksonville and again competing against Florida State.
Pepperdine also travels east as the Waves head to Texas to compete in the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Tournament. On Friday, Pepperdine will take on Louisiana Monroe and Cal State Bakersfield and then Tarleton State and Texas A&M - Corpus Christi on Saturday.
Santa Clara heads to Boise, Idaho to take part in the Boise State Beach Classic. The Broncos will face off against UTEP and Boise State on Friday before taking on CSUN and Oregon on Saturday. Santa Clara will also have early action next week against San José State on Tuesday.
San Francisco will host Pacific and Concordia-Irvine on Saturday, with each program playing each other once on the day.
