SAN BRUNO, Calif. - It was an action-packed weekend on the water for West Coast Conference rowing last weekend as all league boats competed across the west.
Oregon State garnered West Coast Conference Crew of the Week honors this week with its varsity eight boat. The Beavers took first in the Oregon State Invitational in their first race of the season.

A handful of duals will commence this weekend for league crews before another hefty weekend of action the following weekend.
Gonzaga will dual Washington State on April 3rd in Spokane, Wash.
On April 4, San Diego will stay in Southern California to battle Wisconsin while Santa Clara stays in the Bay Area to compete with California in Berkeley, Calif.

All West Coast Conference boats were on the water last weekend, with eight of the ten programs competing in two major regattas.
Sacramento State, San Diego and Washington State were all at the premier San Diego Crew Classic last weekend with several nationally-ranked programs competing. The Hornets' varsity eight claimed the program's second San Diego Crew Classic Cal Cup at Crown Point Shores. This was Sacramento State's first Cal Cup gold since 2000 and the medal was the eighth in program history at the San Diego Crew Classic's Cal Cup Race.
San Diego's novice eight finished strong in Sunday's grand final, finishing fourth with a time of 7:56.66. Washington State's varsity eight, varsity four and second varsity eight all finished fifth, respectively, in their races.
Five league programs were in the water in Eugene, Ore., last Saturday at the Oregon State Invite - Oregon State, Gonzaga, Portland, Santa Clara and Seattle U. Of the six races on the day, the Beavers took first in five, including the varsity eight with a time of 6:52.80. Gonzaga took the first race of the morning in the third and fourth varsity four race with the third varsity four boat finishing with a time of 7:55.87.
In an exhibition dual, Creighton defeated Nebraska in Omaha in three races of 1,600 meters. The Bluejays varsity eight finished first with a time of 5:50.8.
Saint Mary's competed at the Blue Heron Humboldt Regatta last weekend with the Gaels taking home victories in three races on the day with their varsity eight, third varsity eight and varsity four boats. The varsity four boat won with a time of 8:21.097 to beat Humboldt by over 14 seconds.
