SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After batting .600 for the week in a sweep over LMU, San Diego's Jayton Greer was named both the Rawlings West Coast Conference Player and Freshman of the Week. A major contributor in Santa Clara clinching a berth in the conference tournament, Max Bayles was named Rawlings West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Jayton Greer batted .600 (6-for-10) with four runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, nine RBI and three walks during USD's sweep of LMU. He got on base at a .714 clip and slugged 1.400 against the Lions. Greer began his weekend going 2-for-3 on Thursday with a double, a walk, a run and four RBI. He then recorded a 3-for-4 outing with two home runs — including a go-ahead grand slam in the bottom of the eighth inning during Friday's victory. He scored three runs and recorded five RBI on Friday. Greer went 1-for-3 on Saturday with two doubles. USD ends the season with three conference player of the week awards.

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – MAX BAYLES, JR., RHP – SANTA CLARA
Max Bayles tied his career best with 12 strikeouts on Thursday against Pepperdine in a pivotal series opener to help the Broncos earn a 10-0 victory. His 12 strikeouts pushed him past the 100 Ks mark this season (102). Bayles' first five outs of the game were by strikeout. He struck out three in the first, fourth and fifth innings, had two in the second and one in the sixth. His efforts kickstarted a huge sweep for Santa Clara that allowed the Broncos to earn a berth in the conference tournament. Bayles won conference pitcher of the week three times in 2026.
