SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After clinching the outright West Coast Conference softball championship last Friday at Santa Clara, Saint Mary's swept this week's West Coast Conference softball player of the week awards. Sam Buckley won West Coast Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week while Odhi Vasquez won West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time this season.  

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SAM BUCKLEY, JR., INF – SAINT MARY'S
Sam Buckley opened up a critical weekend at Santa Clara going 3-for-3, accounting for all three runs in the loss thanks to a two-run home run. In Sunday's series finale, she scored three times after reaching base on three walks, also adding a stolen base. She batted .800 for the week with a 1.400 slugging percentage. Buckley won conference player of the week four times this season.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK – ODHI VASQUEZ, SR. – SAINT MARY'S
Odhi Vasquez entered the series opener against Santa Clara in relief and surrendered just one unearned run in 2.2 innings of work, recording five of her eight outs by strikeout. Vasquez came back with the start on Friday and led the way for the Gaels to earn an NCAA postseason berth, picking up her program-record 50th career win with a complete-game effort. Vasquez allowed a pair of runs in the second, but was otherwise stellar, twice recording strikeouts with the go-ahead run on second.
