SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- As announced on Thursday, March 8 by the West Coast Conference, the WCC is pleased to recognize its February Women's Golf Player of the Month, Alina Ching from Pepperdine.
WOMEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE MONTH
ALINA CHING, PEPPERDINE
Pepperdine freshman Alina Ching is the WCC Women's Golf Player of the Month for February. Ching had a very impressive fifth-place finish at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. She shot a 5-over 218, which included a season-best even-par 71 in the first round. Ching, who was unranked by Golfstat, finished better than 29 of Golfstat's top 100 ranked players.
The fifth place was her best of the season. She helped the Waves to a third-place team finish against tremendous competition. Pepperdine finished behind only a pair of top-four-ranked teams in UCLA and USC, and the Waves did better than 10 higher-ranked squads (including eight in the Golfstat top 25).
