SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The Brigham Young women's golf team continues its season of first in the West Coast Conference by claiming a sweep of the 2016 individual awards one day after winning the first WCC team championship in program history.

BYU's Rose Huang was named the Player of the Year, Cougar head coach Carrie Roberts was selected as the Coach of the Year, and Huang and Gonzaga freshman Bianca Pagdanganan were picked as the Co-Freshmen of the Year. The awards were the first in BYU history while Pagdanganan becomes just the second Zag to earn at least a share of the conference's top freshman honor.

All three individual awards - along with the All-West Coast Conference Teams - were voted on by the league's five head coaches.

Huang was named the WCC Player of the Year as well as the Co-Freshman of the Year after a season that saw her earn five top-five finishes, including a second-place finish at the WCC Championships and a win at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. Roberts earns her first career Coach of the Year honor after leading the Cougars to five tournament victories this season, including the WCC Championship that ended Pepperdine's 14-year winning streak at the tournament. Pagdanganan scored a 72.17 scoring average in her debut season at Gonzaga to lay a claim as the Co-Freshman of the Year. She carded her lowest career score of 69 in the final round of the WCC Championship to finish tied for second with a 219 in her first conference championship.

The NCAA Regional field will be announced on Monday, April 25 at 3pm on the Golf Channel.
