SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named Loyola Marymount senior Lukas Moenter the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week and the Brigham Young duo of Sean Hill and Jeffrey Hsu the Doubles Team of the Week.
Moenter earns his first career weekly honor after his win against a ranked opponent clinched the 4-3 LMU win against New Mexico. Holding down the No. 1 spot for the Lions, Moenter took on No. 35 Ricky Hernandez Tong and came out with a 7-5, 7-6 win, clinching the match for the Lions.
It’s the second consecutive week that BYU has claimed the WCC Doubles Team of the Week honor as Sean Hill and Jeffrey Hsu beat Andrew Gu and Jesus Barajas, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles to clinch the doubles point as BYU went on the sweep Santa Clara 4-0 in both teams’ WCC opener.
