SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After earning a huge victory over No. 4 Stanford last week, Pepperdine men's tennis racked up multiple West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week awards with the duo of Aleksa Pisaric and Lasse Poertner winning doubles team of the week and Gustavo Ribeiro de Almeida winning Freshman of the Week. West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week went to Max Wuelfing from LMU.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MAX WUELFING, SR. – LMU
Max Wuelfing once again beat both of his opponents on the No. 1 court in a pair of victories in San Luis Obispo, Calif. last weekend. On Sunday against Cal Poly, Wuelfing won in straight sets, hanging on to get the tiebreaker in the second set 6-4, 7-6(7-4). It was his performance on Saturday against Nevada that rallied the Lions to their fourth team victory. Wuelfing hung on for another marathon match win 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. Trailing 3-1 in the final set, he came back to win five of the final six games to claim the match. LMU beat Nevada, 4-3. This is the second time this season Wuelfing has won conference singles player of the week.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – ALEKSA PISARIC, SO., LASSE POERTNER, SO., PEPPERDINE
The Waves duo earned a pair of court one doubles victories against No. 4 Stanford and No. 15 UCLA. Their efforts helped the Waves defeat the fourth-ranked Cardinal. This is the second straight week a Pepperdine doubles team has claimed this award.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – GUSTAVO RIBEIRO DE ALMEIDA, FR. – PEPPERDINE
Gustavo Ribeiro de Almeida earned a singles victory against No. 15 UCLA while having his match go unfinished against No. 4 Stanford on court five. He also earned a doubles victory against the Cardinal to clinch the doubles point during the Waves victory over the Cardinal. This is Pepperdine's first conference freshman of the week award this season.
