SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named Pacific junior Ross Watson the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week and the Brigham Young duo of Sean Hill and Jeffrey Hsu Doubles Team of the Week.
Ross Watson stood out this week for the Tigers winning both of his matches in singles including one over a nationally-ranked player against New Mexico on Sunday. On Friday at UC Irvine, Watson was one of two Tigers to pull out a victory when he won easily at No. 1 singles over Sasha Krasnov, 6-4, 6-1. On Sunday, he knocked over Ricky Hernandez Tong, who is tied for 72
nd in the nation with a straight set 7-6, 6-3 win.
Hill and Hsu earn their second honors of the season after also taking the award in Week 2. The duo were the first doubles court to finish against Air Force with a quick 6-1 victory over Tadhg Collins and Patrick Sklenka. They went on to clinch the doubles point against Denver by defeating James Davis and Matt Summers, which proved crucial in their 5-2 victory over the Broncos. ?
