FAIRFIELD, Calif. - No. 2 seed Pepperdine defeated No. 3 seed Santa Clara, 4-0, in the semifinals of the West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Tournament at the Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, Calif.
Doubles action start as back-and-forth matches before the Waves pulled away on the top two courts with both Waves' tandems winning by scores of 6-3.
The Waves maintained control of the match in singles. The first result came on court 4 with Gustavo de Almeida winning, 6-2, 6-2. Not long after Maxi Homberg won on court 5, 6-3, 6-1.
Edward Winter clinched the win on the top court in dominant fashion, 6-1, 6-1.
With the win, the Waves will advance to Saturday's championship match at 10 a.m. against No. 1 seed San Diego.
