FAIRFIELD, Calif. - No. 1 seed San Diego swept No. 4 seed LMU in the semifinals of the West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Tournament at the Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, Calif.
After San Diego handled things quickly on court three in doubles with a 6-2 win, LMU hung tough against the Toreros on the top two courts with both of them going to the tiebreaker. On the No. 1 court, USD emerged victorious, 7-6, to clinch the doubles point for the top seed.
Adrien Berrut finished first in singles on the No. 4 court, garnering a straight-set win, 6-0, 6-3. He was quickly followed by Lambert Ruland on court five, 6-3, 6-2.
The match-clinching victory happened on the No. 6 court as Neo Niedner picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win.
With the win, the Toreros will advance to Saturday's championship match at 10 a.m.
