San Francisco, Gonzaga Earn Final WCC Men’s Tennis Weekly Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named San Francisco’s Ryan Marker the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week and the Gonzaga duo of Simon Homedes Dualde and Emilio Moreno the Doubles Team of the Week.
 
Marker clinched the match against Pepperdine on Friday afternoon to give the Dons their first conference win of the season. Both teams completed to the very last set and Marker pulled away with 4-6, 6-3, 4-6 victory over Adrian Oetzbach at No. 1 singles. In USF’s other dual of the week, Marker was leading 7-6, 3-2 before the match went unfinished.
 
The Gonzaga pair of Simon Homedes Dualde and Emilio Moreno clinched the doubles point in the Zags’ lone match of the week. Helping Gonzaga to a 4-1 win over Portland, Homedes Dualde and Moreno won the final three games to win 6-4. The Zags finished the season in second in the WCC with a program-record 7-2 league mark.
