West Coast Conference Announces 2019 Softball All-Academic Team

Five Schools Place At Least Two On All-Academic Squad  

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce the 2019 WCC Softball All-Academic Team, comprised of 11 student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the diamond this spring. 

This year, nine student-athletes turned in GPAs of at least 3.5 while six achieved a 3.75. Five schools landed at least two student-athlete on this year’s squad, including two-time honoree Hailey Reed of Pacific, who turned in a 4.0 GPA. 
 
Reed joins five other multi-year recipients: Santa Clara’s Kelsie Barnard (three times) and Eleni Spirakis (twice), San Diego’s Taylor Spence (three times), Saint Mary’s Bailey Lotz (twice) and BYU’s Brooke Vander Heide (twice).
 
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
