PORTLAND, Ore. - The 2019 West Coast Conference Sportsmanship Award recipients were announced as part of the tenth annual West Coast Conference Honors Dinner, held Wednesday night at the The Benson Hotel in Portland, Oregon.

San Diego men's tennis student-athlete Garrett Kurtz was named the Male Sportsmanship winner, while Pepperdine women's basketball student-athlete Barbara Sitanggan was named the Female Sportsmanship winner.

Kurtz is recognized for showing great respect towards his opponents and tennis officials. He was described as consistently displaying integrity and fairness in his line calls, even sometimes to his own detriment. 

BARBARA SITANGGAN, PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY, WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Sitanggan is recognized for demonstrating a positive attitude, even when faced with adversity. All year long, she exemplified poise and integrity on the basketball court in spite of physical play from her opponents throughout the season.
