SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce the 2020 West Coast Conference Softball All-Academic Team. Santa Clara’s
Eleni Spirakis (Mechanical Engineering) leads the way with her third straight first team selection.
Two WCC student-athletes on the all-academic squad earned first team honors for the second consecutive season: LMU’s
Molly Grumbo and San Diego’s
Delaney Heller.
In addition, one first team honoree were selected to the 2020 Academic All-District 8 squad: BYU’s
Taylei Williams.
All told, eight West Coast Conference softball student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better and 19 posted a GPA of 3.50 or better.
No fewer than 44 WCC student-athletes met the academic criteria for softball. Pacific led all programs with 11 student-athletes meeting the minimum academic standards for consideration, followed by Santa Clara (11) and BYU (7).
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
