SAN MATEO, Calif. – ESPNU will televise one of the marquee matches of the 2021 West Coast Conference women’s soccer schedule Wednesday, October 20 when No. 4 Pepperdine travels to the South Bay to take on defending NCAA Champion Santa Clara. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. PT at Stevens Stadium – Buck Shaw Field in Santa Clara, Calif.
Entering this week, Pepperdine is ranked No. 4 in the current United Soccer Coaches national poll, while Santa Clara is in the “receiving votes” category after playing one of the nation’s most challenging non-conference slates. The Waves host Gonzaga and the Broncos welcome Bay Area rival San Francisco this Saturday before squaring off Oct. 20.
Back in 2019, the last time the Broncos and Waves played on the national stage, provided one of the most thrilling finishes ever seen on ESPNU. Trailing 3-0 deep into the second half, Santa Clara rallied for four goals in less than 15 minutes to secure a 4-3 triumph in regulation against Pepperdine.
