SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its University Credit Union Men’s Tennis Singles Player and Doubles Team of the Week for April 27, 2021.

UCU #WCCSPORTS SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DANIEL DE JONGE, JR. – PEPPERDINE
Daniel De Jonge went undefeated this week, helping Pepperdine to its first WCC title since 2013. He clinched both matches against San Diego (6-1, 6-4) and BYU (6-3, 7-5) to help the Waves finish undefeated in WCC play.

UCU #WCCSPORTS DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – JACK BARNETT AND BEN GAJARDO – BYU
BYU sophomore Jack Barnett and senior Ben Gajardo closed the regular season on a four-match win streak, improving to 9-1 as a doubles pair with two wins last week. The duo beat Pepperdine’s Adrian Oetzbach and Guy Den Ouden, 6-1 on Friday, helping the Cougars earn the doubles point in the match against the Waves. Barnett and Gajardo then defeated Diego Nava and Daniel Moreno of LMU, 7-5 on Saturday.
