SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced its Softball All-Academic Team for the 2021 season. This year’s 11-member first team encompasses WCC student-athletes who excelled both on the course and in the classroom.
All six softball programs placed at least one student-athlete on the first team led by three from 2021 WCC Champion BYU. LMU and Pacific each added two.
This year’s squad features three repeat appearances. Pacific’s
Madeline Domingo, BYU’s
Rylee Jensen and
Taylei Williams all makes their second straight appearance.
No fewer than 34 softball student-athletes qualified for academic honors and 20 of them posted a GPA of at least 3.50. Fourteen posted marks of 3.75 or better.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
