Williams And Earle Garner WCC Softball Weekly Honors

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Sofia Earle brought home Saint Mary’s softball’s first weekly award of the season as the senior was tabbed WCC Pitcher of the Week. BYU’s Taylei Williams won WCC Player of the Week accolade, her first conference weekly award this season.

#WCCSPORTS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TAYLEI WILLIAMS, SR., INF – BYU
Williams helped BYU sweep Iowa State last weekend. She batted .571 (8-for-14) over the course of four games played last week. During BYU’s series-opening win over the Cyclones, Williams went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, including a double and a stolen base. She enjoyed three multi-hit games during the week, along with week-long totals of six runs scored, three doubles, three RBI, two stolen bases and a triple. This is Williams’ first WCC weekly honor, and it's also the second time this season a Cougar has been tabbed WCC Player of the Week and it's the Cougars’ fifth conference weekly honor overall this season.

#WCCSPORTS PITCHER OF THE WEEK – SOFIA EARLE, SR. – SMC
Earle tossed a one-hit shutout at Nevada last Tuesday, allowing only three total base runners during the Gaels’ 3-0 win. The senior also took a no-hitter into the bottom of the sixth inning. This performance marked her fourth complete game of the season, and the second time in her last three starts that she has gone the distance while allowing just one hit.
