SAN BRUNO, Calif. - After the first week of West Coast Conference softball league play, Saint Mary's stands ahead of the pack at 3-0. Santa Clara and Oregon State are tied for second place, each at 2-1 after the first weekend of conference play.
Overall, LMU and Saint Mary's have each gone over the 20-win mark. The Gaels boast 24 wins (24-10), while the Lions are 22-13 in all games.
This Week
The Gaels will be the conference team playing a non-conference games this week as the Gaels head to Washington to face the Huskies for two games before returning to the Bay Area for two games at Stanford.
In conference series, the two teams tied for second will square off when Santa Clara hosts Oregon State. LMU heads to San Diego and Pacific hosts Seattle U.
Last Week
Last week's action started with Santa Clara picking up a 5-2 road win at Portland State.
In conference action, Saint Mary's swept Pacific at home to stand all alone in first place. The Broncos continued their momentum after the road victory at Portland State by taking two out of three at LMU. Oregon State also took two out of three at home against San Diego.

Hannah Ferguson from Saint Mary's is tied for first in the nation in triples with seven.
Oregon State's Jaeya Butler ranks in the top 10 in two categories - fourth in total bases and eighth in home runs. Butler also ranks tied for 14th in doubles along with Pacific's Olivia Silvestre.
LMU's Avery Francis is tied for 14th in hits and tied for 21st in stolen bases. Also in the stolen bases rankings, Santa Clara's Cairah Curran ranks tied for 10th.
