SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Tommaso Baldineti of LMU has been named the KAP7 WCC Men's Water Polo Player of the Week after leading the Lions to a pair of upsets last week.
WCC KAP7 MEN'S WATER POLO PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TOMMASO BALDINETI, JR. – LMU
Tommaso Baldineti had a career week for LMU leading the Lions in goals, assists, points, and steals, while tying for the team lead in drawn exclusions and field blocks. His total for the week included 18 goals, 11 assists, 29 points, nine drawn exclusions, six steals, and two field blocks. Baldineti helped lead LMU to a road win at eleventh-ranked UC San Diego, an opening tournament win over No. 16 California Baptist, and a Top 7 upset that put an end to a losing streak against Long Beach State. The win over No. 7 LBSU is LMU's second Top 10 win of the season and highest-ranked win since beating No. 6 UC Santa Barbara back in 2009.
