SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Santa Clara swept the first Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Players of the Week honors in 2024 with freshman Luca Lemaitre taking CUI WCC Singles Player of the Week, and Sebastian Buxman and Arjun Honnappa earning CU1 WCC Doubles Team of the Week. 
 
CREDIT UNION 1 WCC SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK – LUCA LEMAITRE, FR – SANTA CLARA
Lemaitre delivered the match clincher, completing the Broncos' 4-3 comeback victory over California on Sunday. SCU trailed, 3-1, before reeling off three-straight singles victories, capped by Lemaitre's three-set win over Jonathan Irwanto, 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), on court four. Playing in his first collegiate match, the mid-year enrollee picked up the final three points to help the Broncos win their season opener.

CREDIT UNION 1 WCC DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – SEBASTIAN BUXMAN AND ARJUN HONNAPPA – SANTA CLARA
Buxman and Arjun Honnappa clinched the doubles point for the Broncos over Cal on Sunday beating Alex Chang and Timofey Stepanov, 7-6 (8-6), on court three. The point proved crucial as SCU downed Cal, 4-3.
