SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After winning the 2025 West Coast Conference Volleyball Championship for the first time since 2022, San Diego is headed to the 2025 NCAA Tournament as a No. 8 seed, as the field was announced Sunday afternoon by the NCAA. The Toreros will play Kansas State in the Lincoln regional. If USD beats the Wildcats, they will face the winner of host and No. 1 seed Nebraska and Long Island.
San Diego and Kansas State will meet Friday at 2:30 p.m. PT at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on the Nebraska campus.
The West Coast Conference now owns 104 berths all-time in the NCAA Tournament. The Conference has appeared in the Final Four four times, most recently represented by San Diego in 2022.
This is San Diego's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since that national semifinal run in 2022. Similar to 2022, the Toreros went undefeated in conference play in 2025.
USD finished the regular season with an overall record of 25-4.
San Diego is 2-0 all-time against Kansas State, which includes a 3-1 first round win in the 1997 NCAA Tournament. Most recently, these teams met in 2010, a 3-1 Torero victory.
