SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara’s Cairah Curran and Avery Seva captured West Coast Conference Softball weekly honors, as Curran was named the Heluva Good Dip West Coast Conference Softball Player of the Week for the second time this season and Seva earned the Heluva Good Dip West Coast Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week award. This is the second week in a row a Santa Clara pitcher has captured the Conference’s pitcher of the week award.
 
HELUVA GOOD DIP WEST COAST CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CAIRAH CURRAN, SO., OF – SANTA CLARA
Cairah Curran batted .467 last week for Santa Clara, going 7-for-15 as the Broncos split their four games played last week with a pair of victories over UC Santa Barbara. In addition to her seven singles, Curran scored four times. The reigning West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year was also efficient at second base, collecting 11 putouts.

HELUVA GOOD DIP WEST COAST CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – AVERY SEVA, SO. – SANTA CLARA
Avery Seva registered her first complete game in the Broncos' 3-2 win over UC Santa Barbara last week. The sophomore recorded a strikeout, while allowing seven hits and two runs over the seven innings, picking up the victory as Santa Clara completed the doubleheader sweep over the Gauchos. She pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit against Fresno State earlier in the week. For the week, Seva compiled a 1.45 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP in 9.2 innings.
