LMU's Izzy Jamgotchian and Santa Clara’s Cari Ferguson Claim West Coast Conference Softball Weekly Honors

Jamgotchian collects her third West Coast Conference Player of the Week award of the season

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – LMU's Izzy Jamgotchian and Santa Clara's Cari Ferguson took home Heluva Good Dip West Coast Conference Softball weekly honors on Monday. Jamgotchian was named the Heluva Good Dip West Coast Conference Softball Player of the Week after igniting LMU's offense against Pacific. Ferguson was honored as the Heluva Good Dip West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week after shutting down the Saint Mary's offense this past weekend.
 
HELUVA GOOD DIP WEST COAST CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – IZZY JAMGOTCHIAN, JR., C – LMU
Izzy Jamgotchian earned her third Heluva Good Dip West Coast Conference Player of the Week award after totaling three runs, four hits, two doubles, four RBI, and two home runs while hitting .444 with a 1.333 slugging percentage as the Lions won their series over Pacific. LMU won the first two games, 8-4 and 3-0, before dropping the series finale, 3-2. Jamgotchian went 4-for-6 across the first two games of the series with multiple extra base hits.

HELUVA GOOD DIP WEST COAST CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – CARI FERGUSON, FR., P – SANTA CLARA
Cari Ferguson tossed 11.3 scoreless innings for the week, including a two-hit nine-inning shutout against Saint Mary's. as the Broncos took the series over the Gaels. Santa Clara won the first game, 3-0, and took the series finale, 11-5. Ferguson went the distance in the series opener. She surrendered just two hits, while striking out four and walking four in a 118-pitch gem. Santa Clara and Saint Mary's went into extra innings scoreless before the Broncos came out on top in the pitcher's duel. Ferguson held the Saint Mary's offense to a .114 batting average. Ferguson has posted a shutout in three of her last four performances.
