Oregon State Wins West Coast Conference Rowing Championship

Beavers swept all Grand Finals to earn conference crown

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Oregon State captured the 2025 West Coast Conference Rowing Championship after winning all of the Grand Finals by open water on Saturday at Lake Natoma in Gold River, California.
 
Along with first place finishes in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four, the Beavers captured first in the second varsity four exhibition Grand Final.
 
Oregon State, ranked No. 20 in the latest Pocock CRCA Coaches' Poll, finished with 54 points to capture the team title. Gonzaga placed second as a team with 47 points and Washington State captured third with 43 points. Sacramento State (33 points) finished fourth, San Diego (30 points) placed fifth and Saint Mary's (27 points) finished sixth. Portland and Creighton each finished with 14 points, with the Blue Jays taking the seventh spot based on finishing higher than Portland in the varsity eight Petite Final. Sant Clara (8 points) finished ninth. 
 
The Beavers raced down the course in 6:36.160 to capture the varsity eight Grand Final by open water. Gonzaga crossed the line in second with a time of 6:45.780, while Washington State took third with a time of 6:47.815.
 
Oregon State posted a nine-second win in the second varsity eight Grand Final, finishing with a time of 6:46.160. Gonzaga took the silver with a time of 6:55.688 and Washington State captured the bronze with a time of 6:48.776.
 
The Beavers opened competition in the points-scoring races with a victory in the varsity four Grand Final, posting a time of 7:36.634. Washington State captured the silver with a time of 7:40.790, followed by Gonzaga with the bronze with a time of 7:43.754.
 
The day opened with an exhibition Petite and Grand Final in the second varsity four. Oregon State captured the Grand Final with a time of 7:51.972, followed by Washington State (7:58.175) and Gonzaga (8:08.428).
 
Oregon State has earned the West Coast Conference’s automatic qualification to the NCAA Division I Rowing Championship. The NCAA Championship selection show is Tuesday, May 20.
