SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Helping San Diego pick up two wins last week, including a miraculous late-minute comeback over California Baptist and a win against crosstown rival San Diego State, Noah James won West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Securing another shutout to kick off the 2025 season, Portland goalkeeper Miguel-Angel Hernandez won West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Noah James collected his first brace at USD, helping the Toreros complete an improbable 3-2 victory over California Baptist last Thursday. James recorded six shots and played the full 90 minutes to help lead his team to a third straight win. His week began once again playing the full 90 minutes in USD's 2-1 road win over crosstown rival San Diego State. This is the second straight week a Torero has won West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MIGUEL-ANGEL HERNANDEZ, JR., GK – PORTLAND
Miguel-Angel Hernandez tallied his third and fourth clean sheets in a row against Wisconsin and Kansa City. He notched two saves in both matches, including crucial late saves in both matches. One save occurred in the 79th minute against Wisconsin and another in the 84th against Kansas City, and the UMKC late save came with Pilots down a man due to red card. This is Portland's first conference weekly award this season.
