SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Taking down No. 12 Texas on the road, No. 21 Pepperdine swept the first West Coast Conference Women's Tennis weekly awards. Živa Falkner won Singles Player of the Week while Anastasiia Grechkina and Chantal Sauvant won Doubles Team of the Week and Sonja Zhiyenbayeva won Freshman of the Week.  
 
WEST COAST CONFERENCE SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ŽIVA FALKNER, TR. – PEPPERDINE
Živa Falkner defeated second-ranked singles player in the country to clinch Pepperdine's upset road victory at No. 12 Texas. Falkner defeated Carmen Herea in three sets after dropping the first set and making a comeback to garner the win.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – ANASTASIIA GRECHKINA, SO., CHANTAL SAUVANT, GR., PEPPERDINE
Anastasiia Grechkina and Chantal Sauvant picked up a pair of doubles victories on court two against Illinois and No. 12 Texas, helping the Waves start the season with two wins. They won both doubles matches by the score of 6-4.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – SONJA ZHIYENBAYEVA, FR. – PEPPERDINE
Sonja Zhiyenbayeva began her collegiate career with a pair of singles victories on the third court, helping Pepperdine defeat Illinois and No. 12 Texas to start the year 2-0. She also went 1-1 in doubles last week.
