Butler Once Again Tabbed Softball Player Of The Week

Ferguson wins conference pitcher of the week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. –  For the second straight week, Oregon State's Jaeya Butler was named West Coast Conference Softball Player of the Week. Santa Clara garnered its first conference weekly award of 2026 as Cari Ferguson won West Coast Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week. 

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JAEYA BUTLER, JR., INF – OREGON STATE
Jaeya Butler hit 7-for-17 (.412) across five games at the Judi Garman Classic, tallying three home runs, three doubles, eight RBI and four runs while slugging 1.118. She went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs in the 18-7 win over East Texas A&M. Butler blasted another home run in the team’s next game against Cal State Fullerton, finishing 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBI before belting another two-run home run against California. Butler rounded out her weekend with an RBI double against No. 8 UCLA. This is the second straight week that Butler has won conference player of the week and the Beavers own three conference weekly awards overall this season.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK – CARI FERGUSON, SO. – SANTA CLARA
Cari Ferguson posted a 1.31 ERA in 16 innings of work over three starts this week to go 2-1. At the Capital City Classic Tournament on Saturday, Ferguson tossed a two-hit shutout against UC Davis in the Broncos' 3-0 win. On Sunday, Ferguson started in the circle against Sacred Heart and was lifted after four innings with a 4-2 lead. The Broncos held a one-run lead in the top of the seventh as Sacred Heart loaded the bases with no outs when Cari Ferguson re-entered in relief and retired the next three batters to shut down the Pioneer come back attempt to give the Broncos a 5-4 victory.
