SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Earning wins in a hard-fought battle against No. 22 San Diego State, San Diego won two West Coast Conference Women's Tennis player of the week awards with Vilma Krebs Hyllested and Maria Shmakova winning West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week and Shmakova also won West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week. Santa Clara secured its first conference weekly award of the season with Daniella Dimitrova winning West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DANIELLA DIMITROVA, SR. – SANTA CLARA
Daniella Dimitrova won two singles matches last week. On Thursday, she defeated CSUN's Angelo Ho in three sets to clinch the team victory, 4-1. On Friday, Dimitrova won in straight sets for the Broncos' first singles win to even the match at one before No. 64 Cal Poly eventually won 5-2.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – VILMA KREBS HYLLESTED, FR., MARIA SHMAKOVA, FR., SAN DIEGO
Playing together for the first time, the freshman duo played their part and combined for a dominant 6-1 win in No. 19 USD's close 4-3 loss to No. 22 San Diego State.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – MARIA SHMAKOVA, FR. – SAN DIEGO
Maria Shmakova only lost one game in both her singles and doubles matches last week. In doubles, Shmakova combined with another freshman, Vilma Krebs Hyllested, to post a 6-1 victory. Shmakova continued her momentum into singles, losing only one game again en route to a 6-0, 6-1 victory against her Aztec opponent. USD now owns three conference weekly awards this season.
