Beavers Handle Pilots, Head To Semi

Oregon State will face top-seeded LMU on Monday

LAS VEGAS - Behind 20 points from Lizzy Williamson, No. 4 Oregon State defeated No. 5 Portland, 60-50, in the quarterfinals of the Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Women's Basketball Championship from Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. 

With the victory, the Beavers advance to face No. 1 seed LMU in the semifinals on Monday at noon. 

Williamson not only was a force in scoring, but she boasted a double-double with 16 rebounds, as well. She also blocked three shots and secured a steal. Jenna Villa almost earned her own double-double, scoring 10 points with eight rebounds and six assists. 

Dyani Ananiev led Portland in scoring with 14 points, also chipping in three rebounds and an assist. Lainey Spear totaled 12 points and eight rebounds, as well. 

OSU was dominant in rebounding, gaining the advantage in that category, 54-29. Five Beavers recorded four assists or more. The rebounding advantage led to Oregon State scoring 20 second-chance points to nine for Portland and the Beavers boasted 34 points in the paint to 22 for the Pilots.
