2026 West Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament Preview

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The 2026 West Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Tournament is set for April 23-25 in Fairfield, Calif., at the Green Valley Country Club. 

There was a three-team tie for first place in the final regular season standings with San Diego, Pepperdine and Santa Clara all clinching a share of the regular season championship. San Diego enters the conference tournament as the No. 1 seed by way of garnering the highest ranking in the latest ITA rankings. Pepperdine is the No. 2 seed due to defeating No. 3 seed Santa Clara in their regular season meeting.  

Three conference teams stand in the top 45 in the latest ITA rankings - No. 16 San Diego, No. 28 Pepperdine and No. 44 Santa Clara. In singles, Not far behind is LMU at No. 52. In singles, USD's Oliver Tarvet ranks No. 19 and in doubles, Tarvet's teammates Lambert Ruland and Adrien Berrut check in at No. 27.

Joining the Toreros, Waves and Broncos in the six-team tournament are No. 4 seed LMU, No. 5 seed Portland and No. 6 seed Saint Mary's. The tournament gets underway Thursday with the Lions and Pilots squaring off at 9 a.m. followed by the Broncos facing the Gaels at noon. The winner of Thursday's LMU-UP match will face No. 1 seed San Diego on Friday at 9 a.m. The winner of Thursday's SCU-SMC match will face No. 2 seed Pepperdine on Friday at noon. 

Santa Clara picked up a momentus victory last Saturday, taking down first-place San Diego to earn a share of the conference regular season championship for the first time in program history. Pepperdine held off LMU to earn a share themselves. 

USD has won three of the last four conference tournaments with Pepperdine knocking off the Toreros in 2023. Last season, the Toreros and Waves once again met in the tournament championship match with the top-seeded Toreros winning the 2025 matchup, 4-2.
