SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has unveiled its 2026-27 men’s basketball weekly conference matchup schedule. The West Coast Conference will feature 10 programs playing 16 conference games beginning Jan. 2.
West Coast Conference men's basketball conference games could be primarily contested on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with date flexibility for national television partners to provide more national exposure for the conference on additional days of the week. The 2026-27 schedule includes conference games on as many as five days in a given week. Weekday games will be played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, and weekend games will be played on Saturdays or Sundays. The conference matchup schedule of weekday and weekend games includes a select number of contests that have been assigned to specific dates for national broadcast opportunities. The full schedule of game dates along with broadcast information will be announced later this fall, following the completion of national television selections with the conference’s partners, ESPN and CBS Sports Network.
Each of the 10 programs will play seven home-and-away series with one only-home opponent and one only-away opponent to make up the 16-game schedule. Conference play is slated to begin on Saturday, Jan. 2, and will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 27.
2025-26 Co-West Coast Conference Regular Season champion Saint Mary's begins conference play hosting San Diego, while Denver plays in its first West Coast Conference matchup at San Francisco.
The 2026 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championship returns to Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the 19th consecutive year. The 10-team tournament will be held from March 5-9, 2027.
For a record seventh consecutive tournament and 12th time in the last 14 events, West Coast Conference men’s basketball teams earned multiple bids in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Saint Mary’s earned an NCAA bid for a record fifth consecutive season. Santa Clara competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996. This marked the first time since 2022 (Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s, San Francisco) and the fourth time in conference history (2022, 2012, 2008) the conference boasted three NCAA bids. In addition, Seattle U advanced to the second round in the NIT, giving the conference four postseason teams.
