SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named BYU’s Jeffrey Hsu the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week and the Cougars duo of Mateo Vereau Melendez and Matthew Pearce the Doubles Team of the Week.
Hsu earns his first individual honor of the season after finishing first for the Cougars to put them up 2-0 in a match against Boise State. He defeated Jack Heslin 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. This win aided BYU in their 4-0 sweep over Boise State.
Vereau and Pearce earn their second honor of the season and the fourth doubles honor in six weeks for the Cougars. The doubles win by Vereau and Pearce clinched the doubles point for No. 22 BYU with a 6-3 win over Simon Stenlund and Luka Soskic.?
