Santa Clara, Pepperdine Earn WCC Women’s Tennis Weekly Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named Santa Clara’s Maddie Pothoff the West Coast Conference Women’s Singles Player of the Week and the Pepperdine duo of Ashley Lahey and Anastasia Iamachkine the Women’s Doubles Team of the Week.
 
Pothoff picks up her first singles honor after defeating No. 22 Michaela Gordon of Stanford in three-sets, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (11) to pick up the lone point for the Broncos against No. 4 Stanford. 
 
Lahey and Iamachkine had a stellar performance in the Waves 6-1 win over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday afternoon. The pair bested Anastasia Goncharova and Juliana Valero by a commanding 6-2 result in the No. 1 position. The duo has posted a 2-1 record in the No. 1 position so far this season.
