Pepperdine, San Diego Claim WCC Women’s Tennis Weekly Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named Pepperdine’s Anastasia Iamachkine the West Coast Conference Women’s Singles Player of the Week and the San Diego duo of Solymar Colling and Helene Francati the Women’s Doubles Team of the Week.

After an untimely fall in the ITA singles rankings this week, No. 45 Iamachkine defeated No. 28 Valentina Ivanov of 45th-ranked Cal through a straight set effort, going 6-3, 6-2 on court three to clinch the match for the Waves, where the eventual final score was 5-0.

The San Diego duo of Colling and Francati defeated Constance Bransite and Payton Saca of No. 22 USC 6-0 and Natalia Munoz and Zara Lennon of Long Beach State 7-5 to earn the first weekly award of the season for the Toreros.
