SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named Saint Mary’s junior Mariia Kozyreva the West Coast Conference Women’s Singles Player of the Week and the Gonzaga duo of Kate Ketels and Vlada Medvedcova the Women’s Doubles Team of the Week in the final awards of the 2020 season.

In Saint Mary's only match of the week, Kozyreva picked up a big win to help the Gaels squeak out a win over No. 43 Furman. Down 3-2 in the match, Kozyreva battled through three tough sets to come out on top of the 16th-ranked Katarina Kozarov. It was the highest ranked opponent the Gaels' junior defeated this season.

The Gonzaga pair of Medvedcova and Ketels earned a victory on Court 1 to clinch the doubles point for Gonzaga in what proved to be the difference in the 4-3 win over Florida Gulf Coast. Medvedcova and Ketels took home a tiebreak win 7-6(4) to help GU get off to a 1-0 start on the match.
