Presenting the 2020-21 WCC Men’s Tennis All-Academic Team

Seven programs placed at least one student-athlete on the first team

SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced its Men’s Tennis All-Academic Team for the 2021 season. This year’s 12-member first team encompasses WCC student-athletes who excelled both on the court and in the classroom.

Seven men’s tennis programs placed at least one student-athlete on the first team led by three each from Gonzaga and San Francisco. Defending WCC Champion Pepperdine placed a pair on the first team.

This year’s squad features four repeat appearances: Pepperdine’s Daniel De Jonge, Portland’s Eleftherios Neos, San Francisco’s Nitzan Ricklis and Pepperdine’s Tim Zeitvogel. All four make the first team for the second straight season.

No fewer than 34 men’s tennis student-athletes qualified for academic honors. More than 20 posted a GPA of at least 3.50, while 12 posted marks of 3.75 or better.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
