SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced its Women’s Golf All-Academic Team for the 2020-21 season. This year’s 10-member first team encompasses WCC student-athletes who excelled both on the course and in the classroom.
Four women’s golf programs placed at least one student-athlete on the first team led by four from San Francisco. Gonzaga, the 2021 WCC Champion, placed three on the first team, while Santa Clara added two.
This year’s squad features five repeat appearances and
Sarah Busey of Santa Clara makes her third straight first team roster. San Francisco’s
Annika Borrelli, Gonzaga’s
Quynn Duong, BYU’s
Allysha Mae Mateo, the 2021 WCC Player of the Year, and Gonzaga’s
Federica Torre all earn a spot for the second time.
Eleven women’s golf student-athletes qualified for academic honors and all of them posted a GPA of at least 3.50. Five posted marks of 3.75 or better.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
