SAN MATEO, Calif. – Morgan DeBord picked her second straight WCC Softball Player of the Week accolade, and LMU swept the conference’s weekly awards this week as her teammate Jenna Perez picked up WCC Pitcher of the Week honors for the Lions.

#WCCSPORTS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MORGAN DEBORD, JR., OF – LMU
Morgan DeBord swung a hot bat once again last weekend. She boasted a .353 batting average at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, including three home runs with eight RBI. She notched six hits and scored four times over the weekend. She had three multi-hit games over the weekend and notched five RBI in the 11-5 win over Southern Utah. This is DeBord’s second WCC Player of the Week honor this season and in as many weeks.

#WCCSPORTS PITCHER OF THE WEEK – JENNA PEREZ, SO. – LMU
Facing No. 5 Washington, Jenna Perez held the Huskies to just two runs while securing 11 strikeouts. She returned in relief for the final three innings on Sunday and blanked UC Riverside in those frames, producing six more strikeouts to give her a total of 27 Ks in three games last weekend. She allowed only two earned runs and five hits for the weekend. This is Perez’s first WCC weekly honor this season.
