SMC's Middaugh Wins West Coast Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player Of The Week

The Conference had two defensive players of the week this week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Providing a spark for Saint Mary's in defeating first-place Pepperdine, Sydney Middaugh from Saint Mary's won West Coast Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. There were split winners for West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week as JJ Hoover from LMU and Lis Van Herwijnen from Pacific each earned the recognition.
 
WEST COAST CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SYDNEY MIDDAUGH, JR., F – SAINT MARY'S
Sydney Middaugh collected a brace against San Diego last weekend, posting her sixth and seventh goals of the season. Middaugh played 77 minutes against the Toreros and her two goals helped secure a crucial 2-1 victory. She finished the week with 27 minutes played and one shot attempt in the Gaels 1-0 victory over first-place Pepperdine last Saturday. This is Middaugh's first conference weekly award this season and Saint Mary's now owns six overall in 2025.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JJ HOOVER, JR., GK – LMU
JJ Hoover was strong in goal for LMU as the Lions took on the potent Pepperdine offense. The Waves applied consistent pressure throughout the match and peppered her with 15 shots on target. Hoover notched 14 saves overall in helping the Lions pick up the tie and earn a point against the top team in the conference. She finished the week with an .857 save percentage as the Lions managed a pair of draws. This is LMU's second conference weekly award this season. 

WEST COAST CONFERENCE CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – LIS VAN HERWIJNEN, FR., GK – PACIFIC
Lis Van Herwijnen garnered back-to-back clean sheets against San Francisco and Oregon State last week. She notched seven saves in the two games combined with four against the Dons and three against the Beavers.
