SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara's Kennedy Schoennauer was named the West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week and Loyola Marymount’s Sydney Schuler garnered the Defensive Player of the Week honor after leading their respective teams to conference-opening wins on Saturday.
 
WEST COAST CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KENNEDY SCHOENNAUER, SR., F – SANTA CLARA
Kennedy Schoennauer claimer her second Offensive Player of the Week award after scoring a brace – including the game-winning goal – and recording a career-best 11 shots in Santa Clara’s 3-1 win over San Diego in the Broncos’ WCC opener. The forward – who additionally tallied four shots on goal – scored the winner in the 28th minute and added her second in the 56th. Schoennauer – who paces Santa Clara in points (18), goals (9) and game-winning goals (3) – was named the Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week in Week 1 of the season.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SYDNEY SCHULER, SO., M – LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
Sydney Schuler was stellar on both sides of the ball in a 1-0 win at Pacific in Pepperdine’s WCC opener. She notched the gamewinner with a curling free kick that nestled into the top right corner of the goal to mark her first points as a Lion. The Wake Forest transfer followed that up by anchoring the defensive line and helping Loyola Marymount earn its third clean sheet of the season. This marks the Lions’ first Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honor this season.
