San Diego Wins Two West Coast Conference Volleyball Player Of The Week Awards

WSU's Blazkova once again wins offensive player of the week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – San Diego claimed two of the West Coast Conference volleyball player of the week awards this week with Ava Durgan winning West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week and Kylie Munday garnering West Coast Conference Setter of the Week. Washington State's Lucie Blažková claimed West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Pepperdine's Ella Piskorz won West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week. 
 
WEST COAST CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – LUCIE BLAžKOvÁ, SO., MB – WASHINGTON STATE
Lucie Blažková totaled 22 kills on a .439 hitting percentage, while also posting three aces, eight total blocks, six digs and 30.5 total points in a pair of wins over Pacific and Oregon State last week. She averaged 3.14 kills, 4.36 points, 0.43 aces, and 1.14 blocks per set. This is the third time this season Blažková has won conference player of the week accolades, and the second time in the last three weeks.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ELLA PISKORZ, SO., MB – PEPPERDINE
Ella Piskorz led Pepperdine with 14 total blocks, averaging 1.78 blocks per set. She recorded her first career double-double by tying her career highs of 15 kills and 10 blocks in the win over San Francisco. Piskorz also led Pepperdine with six blocks while chipping in 14 kills in the five-set win over LMU. She became the first player in the conference to surpass 100 blocks on the season. This marks the second time this season that Piskorz has won conference defensive player of the week.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – AVA DURGAN, FR., MB – SAN DIEGO
Ava Durgan compiled 18 kills (3.00 K/S) while hitting .517, two digs, and a block as USD swept both San Francisco and LMU last weekend. She tallied three kills (.400), two digs and a block against the Dons before setting a career-high (and game high) 13 kills (4.33 K/S) while swinging at a .579 clip last Saturday at LMU. This is the third time this season that Durgan has won conference freshman of the week.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE SETTER OF THE WEEK – KYLIE MUNDAY, SO., S – SAN DIEGO
Kylie Munday totaled 62 assists (10.33 A/S), 17 digs, 11 kills, six service aces and five blocks (one solo) as USD swept both San Francisco and LMU last weekend. She amassed 28 assists, nine digs, four blocks (one solo), four kills and two service aces against the Dons before racking up 34 assists, eight digs, seven kills, four service aces and a block last Saturday at LMU. Her efforts helped USD hit .351 across its matches versus USF and LMU. This marks the third time this season Munday claimed conference setter of the week.
