No. 3 Santa Clara Sweeps No. 6 Saint Mary's

The Broncos will play No. 2 seed Pepperdine in the semifinals

SAN DIEGO - No. 3 seed Santa Clara swept No. 6 seed Saint Mary's in the quarterfinals of the West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Tournament at the Aztec Tennis Complex on the San Diego State campus. 

The Broncos earned the doubles point starting with John Kim and and Luca Bluett boasting a 6-2 win on court one. Courts two and three went back and forth before Tiago Boschmans and Lukas Maskow pulled off a 7-5 win on court two, giving SCU the early advantage. 

In singles, SCU clinched the team victory on the No. 6 court with Valentin Faure boasting a three-set win over Francisco Duran, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. The Broncos also picked up victories on the No. 1 court with Alexander Watanabe Eriksson defeating Carlos Ramos Membrives in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5. On the fourth court, Kim topped Pierre Lieutaud, 6-3, 6-2. 

With the win, the Broncos will play No. 2 seed Pepperdine Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the semifinals.
