SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the second time in three weeks, Kate Plachy from Saint Mary's won West Coast Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. After notching three goals, Pepperdine's Julia Quinonez won West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JULIA QUINONEZ, JR., F – PEPPERDINE
Julia Quinonez notched three goals during the first week of conference play, including earning a brace in the 3-2 win at Seattle U. She also found the back of the net during the 6-0 offensive outburst by the Waves against Oregon State. She took eight shots, seven on goal. This is Pepperdine's first conference weekly award this season.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KATE PLACHY, SO., GK – SAINT MARY'S
Kate Plachy recorded a career-high 12 saves in the Gaels' 1-1 draw with San Francisco, and added five more in their conference-opening win against Gonzaga. Plachy ranks second in the West Coast Conference with 40 saves and also ranks inside the top 10 nationally with six shutouts. Her 12 saves against USF were one shy of the program single-game conference record of 13. Saint Mary's now owns three conference weekly awards this season.
