Gonzaga Wins Two Rawlings Baseball Players of the Week

LMU's Wadas tabbed conference player of the week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Taking down No. 13 Oklahoma led Gonzaga pitching to win two Rawlings West Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week awards. Karsten Sweum won Rawlings Pitcher of the Week while Landon Hood once again won Rawlings Freshman of the Week. LMU's Zach Wadas won Rawlings Player of the Week after belting four home runs last weekend. 

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ZACH WADAS, JR., OF – LMU
Zach Wadas homered four times last week boasting a 1.059 slugging percentage. Wadas launched a solo shot against TCU for his first of the season before blasting two homers against Davidson on Saturday afternoon and added one more against Wake Forest to finish with a three-homer day. Wadas added four stolen bases and nine RBI while slashing .294/.500/1.059. This is the first conference weekly award for Wadas and the second overall for LMU this season.

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – KARSTEN SWEUM, SO. – GONZAGA
Karsten Sweum picked up an upset win over No. 13 Oklahoma, throwing six innings and only giving up one run. He held Oklahoma, a top-10 offense to only three hits and one walk all night. Sweum struck out seven batters and posted a 0.67 WHIP. This is Sweum's first conference weekly award this season.

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – LANDON HOOD, FR., P – GONZAGA
Landon Hood struck out seven batters in only three innings of work to lock down a save against No. 13 Oklahoma. He held the Sooners without a hit and he allowed one walk across the entire outing. Hood still has not allowed a run in over 11 innings this year and boasted a 0.33 WHIP against Oklahoma. This is Hood's second conference weekly award this season and Gonzaga now owns three overall this season.
